I´m doing ving tsun (WSL) in Germany and was looking not only after good looking knives, but also training knives which are durable enough for our training routine. Found them, thank you very much, best knives I bought til know.

Overall this is the best full blade butterfly swords design and material in the market for your money. Hand guard can flip 360 degrees vertically very smoothly. I recommend the quillion adds 0.5" longer to have better control to flip 360 degrees horizontal and especially vertical for stability to avoid drop on your foot, for 180 degrees flips OK. The weight if reduces 0.5 lbm each is better and can avoid twist the wrist. Usually most katana (Japanese long sword) is around 2 lbm but for 2 hands. I will buy few more pairs if the design modify as I recommend since it is cheaper than custom make in USA for the same quality.

My eyes went big as I saw these swords for the first time, they`re verry nice, they look good, have a good shape, flip easy in both directions, but what not match in this row is the weight. The atvantage of these swords is the speed . This opportunity is far away from these swords. For training, ok, but not as a real weapon. If you work at this, you`ll get 5 stars from me!

I am a student for the last 3.5 years. I am currently studying to test for level 1 Instructor in the International Wing Chun Martial Art Association. But, I have yet to be certified in Biu Gee and Bak Jom Dao. For when I will be studying Bak Jom Dao I wanted the proper butterfly swords for our lineage. My Sifu had looked at these on line and suggested I buy them. I then took them to him to let me know if they were OK. He so much liked them himself, that I have purchased a pair for him. I plan to write another review after i start learning the form.

The craftsmanship really shows through in these swords. Coming from a lineage that flips the blades, I have to say these things are top notch. Whether you agree with flipping the blade or not, you have to agree that if you're going to flip the blade, it should be able to be done smoothly and easily. These do exactly that. They are also balanced well so that each technique can be executed properly.
I own the Cranes Production swords and I have also used WLE's, Leung Ting's, WCKFA's and other maker's swords and I believe these top them all. The quality is far above the price considering it would cost at least, if not more, for a set of swords 1/3 of the quality as these.
My only criticism is that I agree with the other reviewer that the quillion could be about a half inch longer. But, mostly, only for aesthetic reasons. In summary, if you're going to invest in one set of swords, I would highly recommend these.
