| Buick Yip - Hanging Wing Chun Punching Bag
Another great product from Buick Yip. The best hanging bag I've seen to date! The bag measures 30cm by 60 cm and is modeled after Chu Shong Tin's hanging bag (the one that is still used in his school to this day).
-
Thick canvas used to make sure they last you a long time and don't wear out!
-
The bottom is re-enforced to be able to hold over 100 lbs of sand.
-
D-ring at the bottom allows you to attach it to the floor to prevent swining.
-
Heavy duty grommets insure the bag stays up.

The Wing Chun Archive / Everything Wing Chun has been putting these bags through hell, and so far we are very impressed! The pictures shown above is of ours that has been in use. We filled the bottom half with 50 lbs of sand, and the top half with cloth, packed in tight. We then raised the bag to head level and gave it a beating. It was fantastic. Most Wing Chun guys will use rice in the bags, but we prefer the harder sand to help condition the knucles more (plus we wanted to put the bag through tougher conditions so we used the heavier sand). At head height the sand can feel rock solid when really blasting it, and as your knucles get tougher you can add more and more sand. With 100lbs of sand in the bag, it does not move much when you hit it and it feels like a real skull you are cracking. If your hands are not conditioned to that level rice and beans work really well!
Approx 100 lbs of sand runs about $7 USD. You'll also have to get the rope to hang the bag with. We used 300 lb capacity rope doubled up. It costs about .29 USD/foot. |
