Recurve Stabber Butterfly Swords (Collector's Series)

These graceful stabber style Butterfly Swords feature a compound grind consisting of adjacent concave grinds ending in a fine cutting edge most suitable for soft targets. The first grind is like the profile of a shallow bowl hollowing out the steel between the spine and intersection to the edge grind. This challenging combination of grinds is extraordinarily beautiful, a high point for even an accomplished custom knife maker. The blade steel is Bohler 440C weapons-grade stainless steel (the same kind of steel sold by knife supply houses to U.S. custom knife makers), preferred by Modell Design LLC for open-air practice with at most light contact on wood poles. The fine edge and use of stainless steel make it especially inappropriate and imprudent to block steel and other very hard surfaces with the cutting edge (use the spine or flat). They were designed by Jeffrey D. Modell of Modell Design LLC and made by Forgemaster K. Ali of Ironman Steel. Each blade has his personal logo.
