Master Chu Shong Tin Rare Limited Wing Chun Kuen DVD
(Tsui Sheung Tin)

Master of Internal Wing Chun Kung Fu, Chu Shong Tin, teaches you Sil Lum Tao, Chum Kiu, Biu Jee, Luk Dim Boon Kwan, Bot Jaam Do and the Mook Yan Jong in one High Quality DVD!

One of the Prize DVDs in my collection! The entire core of the Wing Chun system by Yip Man's 3rd Disciple on one awesome DVD.

I'm not going to say much about this DVD, because it is very rare and it speaks for itself. Only a limited number were made when Chu Shong Tin was in bad health and wanted to preserve the legacy and I'll be lucky if I can get my hands on the last few. These have already sold out once and I do not know for how much longer I can get them! I only have a few at the moment! It is becoming an extremely rare collectors item, for sure. Master Chu doesn't really want the few DVDs he has left to be sold, since his health has recovered some. This DVD was very hard to get and my cost on this DVD is very high - more than any other. I should be charging about $100 for it.

When I first saw this DVD I thought it was one of the most beautiful DVDs I've even seen. Whoever made it did an absolutely fabulous job. Although I don't speak a bit of Chinese (Cantonese I believe), I've watched the DVD several times and have always gotten some great tips from the demonstrations alone. And I'm not kidding about this - you can learn quite a lot by just watching unless you are just clueless about Wing Chun. More so than any other DVD I've seen in Chinese! We can email you a decent English translation for free if you buy the DVD from Everything Wing Chun (by request only).

Master Chu covers all three empty hand forms: Sil Lum Tao, Chum Kiu, and Biu Jee. He then covers the wooden dummy, the long pole, and the swords. The DVD is over 2 hours 45 minutes long. Never has there been a DVD with this much information packed in.

All of the original copies are pressed DVDs in PAL format, and are in Chinese. Most cheap DVD players in the US can handle PAL videos now, and you can always watch them on your PC.

What It’s About:

Master Chu presents a discussion and demonstration of the three forms of Wing Chun Kung Fu, Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu and Bil Jee. He also provides a demonstration of the Mook Jong set and the Dragon Pole forms both with applications.

Comments:

This DVD is similar to the instructional seminar series conducted in Sidney Australia. However, there are differences in content and explanatory narrative. If you speak Cantonese, you shouldn’t have any problems in understanding what is said and demonstrated. If you have attended the seminars in Australia, or purchased the Master Chu Shong Tin, Wing Chun seminar series from “Everything Wing Chun,” it shouldn’t be a problem for you either. If you’re a beginning Wing Chun student, however, this DVD perhaps would not be the best option for you.

Master Chu demonstrates all three forms in this DVD, and emphasizes how important the Si Nim Tao form, is in establishing a strong foundation and how structure contributes to the movements and applications of Chum Kiu and Bil Jee.

You will also get instructional detail which is not specifically demonstrated in the Australian seminar series. In this DVD he shows how crucial circular motion is in all three forms, not only in the larger movements which are readily apparent, but also at the shoulder, elbow and wrist. If you’re familiar with cars that use a drive train in transferring power to the back wheels, then you’re probably aware of the universal joints connecting the drive shaft to the transmission and differential gear complex. I hope that analogy isn’t too confusing. However, at the very least, I trust you’re able perceive that the forearm is like the drive shaft of a car. In Wing Chun you’re only concerned with how you move from the elbow and wrist…it is the movement of the wrist that controls the hand and the elbow directs the hand where it needs to go. Consequently, in reference to the entire body, it is the proper motion of all the joints and the projection of the “Body Mass”, particularly as it’s rotating that gives technique its power.

I must remind you that the application of the “Mind Force” is essential in making the technique natural and successful. Forceful movement stressed with tension or “muscle mind” will only spoil your training in applying Wing Chun technique, as it was originally taught by Ng Moy as an internal system of Kung Fu.

The section I enjoyed the most in this DVD, was Master Chu’s demonstration of Mook Jong Training. In the beginning of his demonstration, he gives a thorough description of the wooden dummy as it applies to all three forms while showing quite expertly how some of the basic movements are applied in the first section of the Mook Jong set. For example, he turns to one of his senior students and shows how the application works on a person in different “hand” scenarios (e.g. Bong Sau, Tan Sau and Kuen Sau hands and uses this approach throughout the demonstration of the entire wooden dummy set).

Of further interest in Master Chu’s demonstration from the Mook Jong set is his showing of different hand techniques with various kicks. Of course hand and kicking techniques come right out of the second and third forms of Wing Chun. The last part of this DVD is a demonstration of the Dragon Pole form, the proper stance training associated with it and basic applications.

If you think Wing Chun is strictly a hard style and linear in motion, I must tell you it is not! You will readily understand what I mean the more you observe and listen to Master Chu in person, or by watching his Wing Chun DVD series.
For those who are only interested in applications specific to each form you will certainly get that in this DVD. It is packed with useful demonstrations for any experienced student or teacher capable in grasping the internal aspects of Wing Chun concepts. If you already have in your collection the Master Chu Shong Tin, Australian Seminar Series, this DVD would certainly be a welcomed addition, as well as a valuable investment.

Chu Shong Tin Ving Tsun DVD November 24, 2011
Reviewer: Frank from Northern Territory, Australia
Although this DVD is in Chinese language (and even if you have been training in Wing Chun only for a short time), this DVD is an awsome reference guide to correct your postioning, stance and structure. No matter what level you are, there is always something to learn from this DVD each time I watch it. This DVD also compliments the Chu Shong Tin Book Of Wing Chun Vol 1 (which is in English and Chinese languages).

The complete Yip Man Wing Chun system. September 4, 2010
Reviewer: Sam Wong - Translator from MD, USA
This DVD gives you the complete Yip Man’s Wing Chun system from Master Chun Shong Tin. It based on his experience and expresses the Wing Chun system. Master Chun Shong Tin explains the Sil Lum Tao, Chum Kiu, Biu Jee, and the Mook Yan Jong in details such as the forms, the Wing Chun theory and the application demo. This is a next version of the Chu Shong Tin 1998 seminars DVD.
Pros:
1. The quality of the video is excellent.
2.  A closed image when Chu Shong Tin performs the Wing Chun forms.
3.  No blocking view on all the Wing Chun forms. The angel view is clear in the demonstration. I think he asked the professional photographer to record this video.
4.  If you are serious about learning the Yip Man’s Wing Chun system. This is another great DVD collection.
5.  It is perfect for intermediate and advanced Wing Chun practitioners.
Cons:
1. To short for the Luk Dim Boon Kwan, and Bot Jaam Do demonstration for me. It is more like an overview.
2. It might be too much information for the novice who just learns Yip Man’s system in Wing Chun.

I am so happy to brought the DVD from you. September 4, 2010
Reviewer: Alan Cheung from Hong Kong
Sifu Chu Shong Tin - Ving Tsun Kune DVD is my numero uno. A typical Chinese Old (Senior) Sifu. His voice is so gentle and I think he must be a kind person. His in-depth studies in Wing Chun leaded him to a differ field rather than from direct punches and strikes, i.e. in Chinese terms, it is a Force studies. (Use minimal forces to move a big truck. Or, similar to the Lau Si(Sifu)Ho Ho Choy's Bagua Zhang's studies in using internal forces.  To myself, I am grateful to know I am not lonely in this planet.
I am so happy to brought the DVD from you.

The highest educational knowledge of Wing Chun! September 4, 2010
Reviewer: Johnny Ryckewaert from Belgium
Dear Sir,
The footage of Chu Shong Tin is according to me the highest educational knowledge of Wing Chun ever. I have seen it over and over again and keep on being amazed about it. If possible to send me a translation of what he says would give me even more details (although I pretty much can figure out what he means). I hope more of these grandmasters will share this unique information with us, the descendants. Thanks again.
Very Truly Yours,
Johnny Ryckewaert, Belgium
