Wing Chun Archive Customer Notes:
This is excepted from an email from a customer that has tried the Buick Yip Knives, Tommy Yuen Knives, and CranesProductions Knives. Remember, this is just one person's comments :)
Buick Yip Knives: "I tried the Buick Yip's knives yesterday and loved them a lot! Not pretty but they're very balanced and light - perfect for combat! =)"
CranesProduction Knives vs Tommy Yuen Knives: "Regarding balance, the craneproduction knives with a their better handle grip design give solid balance in swinging, chopping, and cutting in general. Tommy Yuen's knives,on the other hand, have rather small and uncomfortable 1/2 handle grips which offer little leverage and control for their top-heavy blades. All things in proper consideration, TY's knives are better in thrusting or forward energy moves thanks to its same heavier weight near the tips. My feeling is the Cr.P knives gives a better training values in handling ease, balance, and power. What are great of the 2 in 1 TY's knives are the love and care evident in the unique custom-carved blades, their pleasing shapes, as well as their traditional appeals. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. =)"
