Dummy Pad - Dummy Armor (tm) v1 - Genuine Leather

We listen to our customers, and when one has a good idea and asks us to make something, we will do just that! This is one just item. We took Joe's request for a "fillable dummy pad" and spent several months making prototypes and design changes until we had something that actually worked, and then we took it a few steps further. Along with this "Dummy Armor", the "Dummy Sand Bag" was also a result this quest.

This product is a set of dummy pads that can be filled with anything that you wish to use to condition your knuckles - rice, beans, sand, etc. The pad comes with foam inserts. You can use that foam (which is great if you are just starting to work on your knuckle conditioning), or do what we do and fill the pockets with sand instead. Now you can properly train your punches on your dummy!

You will notice that the pad has a lot of vertical pockets. This prevents the pad for bulging outwards when filled and helps keep the filling distributed evenly as the pad wraps around the dummy trunk. You can mount the pad with with the smooth side out (as intended) or with the pockets facing out. Each method allows you to condition your fist in a slightly different way. Just be careful with the pad is on backwards - if you punch between the pockets you can hurt your knuckles on the wood of the dummy! Please take the time to softly punch this pad when you first install it so you know where and how hard you can hit. If your punch is square, flat, and solid you should not have any issues.

The top pad has 3 vertical straps so it can easily flow around any slat placement your dummy might have. It also has 1 vertical strap that goes over the top of the dummy so you can set the height you want. If you do not tighten the vertical strap the pad will rest slightly on the dummy arms, so we recommend raising the pad up some. This is especially true in order to get the bottom section centered correctly. The bottom section is attached to the top and should fit nicely on all traditionally made dummies. It is made for dummies with 8+ inches between the top and middle dummy arms. [EWC Note: on this version of the bag the factory messed up the top strap dimensions - it is way too long. To keep it secure you might have to put a slip knot into the strap or threat it through the buckle and the wrap it around itself a few times].

The pad should fit on any dummy 9.5" in diameter or less. If your dummy is larger it is easy to get velcro extensions from your local hardware store.

The striking surface on this pad is Genuine leather. The backside is heavy-duty canvas.

The pads themselves are good. However, I had to cut the nylon webbing to make them fit on my jong.
