Review:

"Author Darrell Jordan brings us back to the good old days of martial arts with penetrating interviews of the great masters of Ving Tsun Kung Fu. Here is a living legacy of warriors, preserved in their own words – the hardships, the discipline and the violence. For them, the martial arts were more than just a means to self defense, it was a vocation. Their art wasn’t critiqued. It was challenged on the field of combat. For aficionados of any art, Jordan provides an album of inspirational stories from those who sacrificed their very flesh and blood in pursuit of greater skill." Before they're gone.....words from the masters. September 10, 2011
Reviewer: Jeffery Brown from Fairport, NY United States
I think Mr. Jordan had a wonderful idea to interview those that are "later on in years" to hear their thoughts on Wing Chun before their voices are gone forever.  I especially appreciated that during the interviews he did not alter, clarify, or interpret what the teachers were saying, but it was printed from the exact words that came from their lips (or from what the translator received).  I suppose the only thing I wished is that he had expanded into more lineages, but then maybe that would be a good idea for part 2 of a series.
