Description

Donald Mak - Willow in the Wind

In Willow in the Wind, Sifu Donald Mak explains the benefits and effectiveness of Wing Chun's soft approach. A senior student of Master Chow Tze-chuen, one of Grandmaster Yip Man's most advanced elder disciples, he has been teaching and practicing Wing Chun for almost 40 years in both Hong Kong and around the world.

One aspect of Wing Chun's soft approach that is often underestimated, or simply not taught, is the role of footwork, together with Wing Chun's shadowless kick. Willow in the Wind devotes two entire chapters to these unique aspects of Wing Chun, teachings that also mark an important return to its fighting origins. Grandmaster Yip Man was also known to have trained just as hard on his footwork and kicking as he did his hand fighting.

With the paucity of good English language books available on Wing Chun, Willow in the Wind makes an important contribution to martial arts literature. Both instructional and inspirational, the book is a must for any martial artist looking to explore kung fu's softer side.

The book is printed in Italy which is of very high quality and with the following specification:

- 209 quality photos
- 2 color pages
- 100 pages
- 2mm thickness hard cover with soft paper wrapped.
