MasterPath Wing Chun Wooden Dummy - Heirloom Series #001 - Teak Wood
(aka Muk Yan Jong, or Mook Yan Jong)

Introducing a new wooden dummies series of high-end, timeless and classically elegant woods and specifications made for the modern wing chun practitioner.

Please note that the pictures of the dummy are a poor representation of the quality and beauty of this dummy. Most are of the unvarnished dummy while it was still being made.

Woods:
Trunk Wood: Teak Wood (Solid)
Arms Wood: Teak Heartwood aged 25+ years.
Leg Wood: Teak Wood (Solid)

These dummies use eco-friendly sustainable sources for the wood, and only uses the best quality woods available. MasterPath works with the only FSC certified teak plantation that operates the full chain of custody and is part of the Rain Forest Alliance. This means for every dummy you buy there will have been two to three new Teak trees planted in Costa Rica, protecting the rainforest and creating jobs for the local people.

Finished with Oils:
The dummy is finished in Watco Teak Oil, not a chemical varnish. This is environmentally friendlier and potentially healthier. For the longest life, you will want to re-oil the dummy on occasion. Tung or Teak oils are recommend for this.

Estimated Weight:
Estimated at 9 kg for the arms and leg, plus the trunk at 30-35 kgs = 39-44 kg / 85-97 lbs total. The weight varies based on the density of the wood used: every tree is different. These weights are only a guide and not a guarantee.

Arm Setting:
Traditional (Left arm is slightly higher than the right).

Specs:
The measurements of all the dummies are based on Leung Sheung's dummy made with reference to Koo Sang. Yip Man gave Koo Sang these measurements and we guarantee you won't be able to tell the difference between your dummy the original! These dummies are made with the most accurate measurements of any dummy on the market today. In addition, there is one added modification of the arms being scaled to work with a six-foot-tall Wing Chun practitioner. Smaller practitioners will have no issues with the traditional specs, but larger people will enjoy the slightly longer arms (31cm).

The most commonly requested measurements:
Diameter of Trunk - 21 cm (8.27 inches)
Height of Trunk - 1.4 meters (55 inches)
The Distance between two top arms (from the middle of arms tip) - 19.25 closed to 21.25cm when open (7.57-8.3 inches).
The Distance between two top arms and the middle arm - 23 cm (9 inches)

Stand:
This dummy does not include any stand. We recommend that you build a wall stand for it on your own. It will work with Buick Yip's stands.

Shipping:
This particular dummy will be drop-shipped to your door via freight. It does not ship directly from our warehouse.

Care:
The dummy is solid wood, which means it has the potential to check in quick humidity changes. Monitoring humidity with a hygrometer is highly recommended. Care is 100% your responsibility. These dummies are properly kiln dried and very stable, but wood will always have the potential to check with humidity swings. Checking in the wood is NOT a warranty issue. Please see the warranty tab for more info. The care is the same as the care for Buick Yip's dummies.
