Warrior - Mei Fun Plum Blossom (aka Muy Fai Jong, Plum Flower Posts)

Yim Wing Chun was well known as a master of the plum flower posts. To this day certain lineages still practice chi sao and other drills on these posts. The typically range from 2 inches in diameter to 7 inches or so (the better you get, the smaller the post used). The minimum configuration is 5 posts evenly spaced in a square with 1 central post. The posts should be spaced according to your height (for proper footwork). The general spacing is that each post's center is 2 feet from each neighboring post's center. Common configurations are 5, 6, and 7 posts.

You can order a stand as well, but they are meant to be separate so they are easily portable. We offer them with and without a stand. Using the posts without securing them to the ground makes them easier to slide out from under you. Traditionally, this is part of the training. We recommend glueing a rubber base to the bottoms if you want them to be freestanding. Use at your own risk.

Post Measurements:

- Each of the posts is approx. 7 inches in diameter (18 cm) and 6 inches high (15 cm).

Wood:

The default wood will be Douglas Fir. Poles will be made from laminate kiln dried wood so they will not crack.

Shape:
Poles will be octagonal. The octogon shape will be cost saving.

Shipping:
These are custom made for you on demand. They can take 6-18 weeks depending on time of year and the carpenter's queue.

Disclaimers:
As noted above, you use at your own risk. Standing and training footwork on small posts, secured and especially unsecured, elevate falling and injury risk. You will not hold the manufacturers or Everything Wing Chun responsible for any injuries from use or misuse of this product.
