Grandmaster Sunny Tang (Deng Hwa / Dun Wah), a second generation student of the late Grandmaster Yip Man and disciple of the late Grandmaster Moy Yat, introduced Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) Kung Fu to Canada in 1973 with the establishment of Sunny Tang Martial Arts Centre. After training in Ving Tsun for more than a decade in hos home town of Hong King, Grandmaster Tang moved to England in 1971. After 2 years he immigrated to Toronto, Canada, where is started the first Sunny Tang Martial Arts Centre, Over the years, many people from different professions, cultures, and martial arts systems have benefited from practicing Ving Tsun under Grandmaster Tang. To date, more than ten Ving Tsun centers have been established by Grandmaster Tang and his senior students across Canada, making it one of the nations largest Martial Arts institutions. Internationally, his student Mak Tend Loong, is a very successful martial artist in Foshan, China who has trained thousands of students in Sunny Tang's Ving Tsun; further extending Grandmaster Tang's reputation.

Grandmaster Tang's contribution both as a martial artist and a community leader has earned him much respect and admiration from his students, other martial artists, hos community and his country. Recognized for this many achievements and contributions, Grandmaster Tan received the Canada Day's Achievement Award in 1990. In 1992, this recognition earned Grandmaster Tang the unique opportunity to perform for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, during Canada's 125th anniversary celebrations.

Grandmaster Sunny Tang is currently the National Executive President of the Confederation of Canadian Wushu Organizations, as well as a leading director for the Canadian National Wushu Team. His team of instructors and coaches have established a positive and highly recognized reputation across Canada, both for their competitive and coaching achievements.

Gransmaster Sunny Tang also served as the Executive Committee Member of the International Wushu Federation, Senior Vice-President of the Pan American Wushu Federation, Chairman of the Wushu Ontario, and Lifetime Honorary President of the National Wushu Institute of Canada.
